I’ve mentioned on this blog before that I occasionally teach a workshop in South Wales at Busy Bees in Newport. Sadly a fire destroyed their premises earlier this month. They are trying bravely to put things back into some semblance of order, and to that end I have today received the following.
‘If you haven’t heard already there was a fire at the shop on 14th December, all the details are here: http://www.busybeespatchwork.com/2013/12/the-fire.html
We know that there are many people other than ourselves who have been totally devastated by this. In order to meet up with as many members of the Busy Bees family as possible, we have booked Duffryn Community centre for a week at the start of January to reconnect. The details are here: http://www.busybeespatchwork.com/2013/12/the-return-saturday-4th-january.html
We would like everyone to come along and see us on Saturday 4th January to re-connect and let us know which classes they are booked into. We have made a Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/278421975638493/
Please forward this information to everyone for whom Busy Bees means something. We are unsure of what the future will bring, but we want to keep as many people in the loop as possible.’
Please pass on the news.
That’s so sad, I work just over the road from Tredegar House. Let me know when you’re next doing a workshop cause I’d love to join in ๐

In theory I’m teaching dyeing on 14th June next year. I’m not sure what the situation is – but maybe you could drop into the community centre during the times they mention. That’s where I usually teach, so I’m guessing they will go ahead. Thanks for commenting.

I hope so too. Will you be visiting the Centre next week? It’s a long way for us, but if we can organise something I hope to pop in just to show support.

The property is owned by the NT. It will be up to them – and those wheels grind exceedingly slow…..

Hey hon! You should set up a Busy Bees fund.

That may well be the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, sadly there is still no explanation as to how it happened – maybe that will come soon.
