It must be February!

Some of you know that we have a little shop that we take around with us.  It sells a variety of goodies for mixed media and textile art, and is an excuse to visit lots of places!  We don’t do many shows, in fact we only do one national show, but we are invited to attend a few very dedicated shows around the country.  The cycle starts in February!  At the end of the month we will be visiting Cottenham, which is just outside Cambridge.

Textiles in Focus has been running for a number of years now, and we have attended each year.  It is a lovely mix of selling stands with an exhibition and a few short workshops, and is very popular.  Each year has been busier than the last, and I’m sure this year will be no exception.  There will be a speaker on the Saturday, this year it is our friend Dawn Thorne, and is destined to be very good.  If you would like to hear the talk you need to apply quickly as the tickets often sell out early.  Full details are here:

Of course, a venue like this needs stock!  Can you guess what I’ll be doing for the next few weeks?  Yes, dyeing, dyeing and dyeing.  The weekend that follows Cottenham involves another small show, so I want to have enough stock for that too, there may not be time to dye any more items.  I’m lauching a couple of new ranges at Cottenham too, so they must be ready.  In actual fact, if you have visited my Etsy shop you may have seen a couple of glimpses, but I’m not pointing you to the items, you will have to wait and see.  Do you live nearby?  Do come and have a look around.  Come to the stand and say ‘hi’ too, and if it isn’t busy, maybe we can have a coffee – the food is fantastic! You need to know, though, that our shop is called Winifred Cottage.  I’ve linked to the shop, but the website is in the process of being upgraded, and I should really be doing some admin towards that instead of typing this blog post.  So, I’m off now.  See you at Cottenham?
